Customizing Your Privacy Center

On this page you can make changes to your hosted Privacy Center so that it matches the look and the practices of your business. Specifically, you can customize the following:

  • Page header logo
  • Logo’s link URL
  • Page favicon
  • Privacy request form fields

Website Header Logo & Link URL

Adding a header logo to your Privacy Center lets you brand the page to make it your own, and creates a seamless experience for your consumers. Including a link to your homepage also gives consumers an easy path back to your site.

To add a logo, click the “Add Image” button under “Website Header Logo” and upload the image from your computer. It is best to use an image in .svg or .png format, with a minimum size of 150 x 150 pixels. Then, under “Logo Link URL” click “Add URL” and paste the address for your business’s homepage.

Favicon

A favicon is the small, square image that displays on each open tab of a web browser, next to the page title. Adding your business’s favicon to your Privacy Center further reinforces the impression that the consumer has not left your site.

To add a favicon, click the “Add Image” button under “Favicon” and upload the image from your computer. Favicon images are usually in .png format, with a size of 32 x 32 pixels.

Request Form

By default, the privacy request form in your Privacy Center asks consumers to provide their name, email address, and the type of privacy request. While all businesses must ask for at least this data in order to fulfill the request, some businesses may require more information to identify a consumer. Adding a custom field lets you request this additional information.

For example, if you wanted to create a field for consumers’ account ID numbers: First, check the box next to “Enable Custom Field.” Then, next to “Text Field Label,” you would enter “Account ID.” You also have the option of adding help text to display beneath this field - in this example you might provide instructions on how to find their account ID. When you have finished making your changes, click “Save.”
